Cactus Parakeet

(Aratinga cactorum) - bird parrot family (Psittacidae). Is a species endemic in Brazil. Occurs in north-e astern Brazil. Divided into 2 subspecies: Living in the wildernes s areas of overgrown bushes and cacti. Is a relatively timid. It was brought to Europe in 1862, but managed to reproduce only in 1883. Reaches 25 cm. The male differs from the female, the color of the iris of the eye - the male is reddish, with a female żółtobrunatna. It feeds on flowers and fruit trees and cactuses, and shoots of trees.
